THE STORY SO FAR

It all started back in 2020, my wife got diagnosed with cancer after the birth of our daughter.I lost my father 9 months before to the same disease, memories of his suffering were still fresh in my mind I felt helpless and suffocated by fear.

After months of both a physical and mental battle, my wife managed to go cancer-free and finally enjoy the warmth of being a mother, we needed to process a mental rollercoaster of emotions.

As we went through this very challenging phase in our life, writing music was one of the things which kept my head above the water, I wasn’t filled with anger or hate, but with strength and hope, cause these were the things I focused on. Being a father, and husband I could not let my energy slip away in spite, but had to remain positive, cause that was the mindset we all needed to get through this.

The Optimist In Me was there, always, keeping a positive attitude, and now I hope to inspire others, those in need of mental help and guidance, to give them a sense of hope even tho everything seems to fade into darkness, don’t give up, don’t give in.

Between May and July 2022, we recorded three tracks with Caleb Bingham (ex-Fiver Finger Death Punch) and Dan Brooklyn at our studio Warehouse 37 in Groningen, The Netherlands. The tracks have been mixed & mastered by Chris Clancy (Machine Head, Kataklysm) who was recommended by my friend Andy Sneap (Judas Priest)

A mix of modern and classic alternative rock/metal, appealing to audiences of all ages, with lyrical themes leaning toward hope and positivity, we thrive in contributing to a larger good, which we also want to reflect in our live shows.
